The studio

A tiny team pressing pixels like a printing plate.

We founded BinaryGaming.fun above a coffee roaster on Danks Street in 2016 with one rule: every mechanic has to earn its place. Nine shipped titles later, we still design around a single table, arguing over frame timing and font kerning until it feels right.

Our work leans into local co-op, hand-drawn art, and chiptune scores recorded in-house. If you have played "Perforated Sky" or "Mint Runner" on a Friday night in Sydney, that was us — and you are exactly who we make games for.

How we build

From napkin sketch to first edition.

Every game runs through the same four-stamp pipeline. No outsourced busywork — just the five of us, iterating in the open.

  1. 01

    Prototype week

A playable core loop in five days. If it is not fun with grey boxes, we scrap it and start again — no exceptions.

  2. 02

    Open playtest

Free Thursday sessions at the studio where locals break our builds. We record every session and read every note.

  3. 03

    Art & sound press

Hand-drawn frames and in-house chiptune are layered in only once the mechanics are locked, so nothing gets polished twice.

  4. 04

    First edition ship

We launch small, patch weekly for a month, then support each title with free content drops for a full year.

What people say after the credits.

Notes pulled from store reviews and our Thursday playtest logbook.

Played Perforated Sky co-op with my flatmates three nights running. The drop-in system just works — nobody had to make an account or fumble with settings.
HHarriet W.Redfern, NSW · March 2025
Mint Runner is the only mobile-feeling game that respects my commute. Ten-minute runs on the light rail and the chiptune soundtrack is genuinely great.
DDaniel O.Alexandria, NSW · February 2025
Went to a Thursday playtest on a whim and ended up in the credits of Danks Street Detective. This team actually listens to feedback.
PPriya S.Surry Hills, NSW · January 2025
Bought all three titles in the bundle. The care shows — hand-drawn art, no microtransactions, and free updates that keep landing.
MMarcus T.Newtown, NSW · December 2024
